Cobra Starship’s new single ‘Send My Love To The Dance Floor, I’ll See You In Hell (Hey, Mister DJ!)’ will be available to download from August 20th. The track is taken from their phenomenal debut album ‘While The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets which was released in April through Decaydance/ Fueled By Ramen. Cobra Starship is the brainchild of ex-Midtown frontman Gabe Saporta. Gabe was born in Montevido, Uruguay – a tiny wedge of a country between Argentina and Brazil. At age four he immigrated to Queens where his father Diego sold scarves on the streets of Manhattan to support his son’s dreams of becoming a rock star. These dreams were realised with Midtown and are now once again becoming a reality with Cobra Starship. After the inclusion of Cobra Starship’s killer track ‘Bring It (Snakes On A Plane)’ on the hit movie’s soundtrack things soon took off and it was time for Gabe to get a full band together.Gabe enlisted old friends Alex Suarez and Ryland Blackington from The Ivy League on bass and guitar respectively.

A drummer came when rockers Armor For Sleep kindly donated their beloved drum tech, Nate Navarro. The line up was complete when Victoria Asher was enlisted on keytar.

World domination was now possible. With the aim of, ‘teaching hipsters to not take themselves so seriously and telling emo kids to stop being pussies’ Cobra Starship made an album jam packed full of disco-tinged pop punk and driving rock anthems.

Featuring appearances from the likes of The Sounds, Gym Class Heroes and The Academy Is… ‘While The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets’ is an impossibly catchy rock extravaganza.

Following their UK tour with Fall Out Boy earlier in the year, and impending US tour with The Academy Is…, Cobra Starship will return to play at Hammersmith Apollo on August 22nd. They will then play Reading and Leeds Festivals on August 25th and 26th.
