Dear Chris and Rosie,

I wanted to type this up and email it to you directly, but I thought I would use my platform to tell other new mums just how much they need you in their life.

Apologies for starting on a negative, but I discovered your podcast when I was suffering badly with postnatal depression after having my second daughter. As fate would have it, it arrived in my world at exactly the right time.

I watched Chris’ Amazon Original show Approval Needed and was so drawn to your brand of comedy that it prompted me to listen to your podcast while I was off on my mat leave.

Luckily, by the time I discovered you both, there was a back catalogue of episodes for me to binge on. I had you on during feeds, you were in my ears when I was out for walks with my baby in the pram, while my little girl was napping and when I couldn’t face leaving the house.

Just when I felt at my worst, you brought some light back into my world. Your infectious laughs and stories of parenthood made me smile at a time when I thought I had no smiles left to give.

While your show is not exclusively about parenting, I appreciate (as I’m sure many others do too) when you share your personal highs and lows of what it means to be responsible for your two beautiful boys. It’s comforting to know that I am not alone when things don’t exactly go to plan. Your honesty gave me the breathing space to admit that parenting is hard to navigate sometimes.

Hearing your voices is like being in the company of old friends- I feel totally at ease when your accent filters through into my home (I too am from the North East).

I truly believe that your podcast should be prescribed to new mums everywhere when the inevitable baby blues kick in. Motherhood is an incredible, humbling experience but it’s also haunted by feelings of inadequacy and ungratefulness at times. At least it is for me.

I have just bought tickets for your tour next year and can’t wait to see you in action on stage. I wish you all the best with the tour and your TV show which is an absolute delight. You have made so many people happy with your podcast (including me) that you deserve all the success that comes your way in return for the good you have put out into the world.

Chris and Rosie, thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing your podcast week in, week out. You are an inspiration and a joy to listen to and when low mood strikes you are the best medicine there is.

Lots of love from one grateful mam
