A recent study has found that mums aren’t happy with their bodies and freeze at the thought of baring all during the summer holiday.

As 70% are unlikely to wear a bikini in the summer sun, 42% of British mums admit they would cover up their bodies on the beach due to stretch marks.

Bepanthen also found that stretch marks are considered the worst aspect of being pregnant by 28% of mums.

A further one in three mums claim stretch marks have caused them to lose confidence in their body.

The insecurities don’t just lie on the beach as 18% of women are embarrassed when they undress in front of their partner, according to the baby skincare experts, Bayer Healthcare, makers of Bepanthen Stretch Mark Cream.

“This research shows clearly how mums feel about having stretch marks”, says Juliane Niklaus, Bepanthen Senior Brand Manager at Bayer Healthcare. “Whilst not a serious condition, they do impact on how mums feel about themselves and their bodies. Bepanthen Stretch Mark Cream is one innovation that can help prevent stretch marks occurring during pregnancy.”
