Peaches Geldof and baby Astala

Peaches Geldof and baby Astala

You would think that when out on a walk with your baby, who is wrapped up in a buggy, you're first priority would be to keep an eye on where you're going, right?

Apparently, Peaches Geldof showed the world how mixed up her priorities were when taking baby Astala for a stroll in London, earlier this year.

Bob Geldof's daughter accidentally tipped her baby out of his buggy while chatting away on the phone, after failing to see a gaping crack in the footpath ahead of her.

To make the already embarassing moment worse, the 23-year-old looked on in horror, while carrying on her phone conversation, and scooped the tot up as fast as she could.

She quickly took to her twitter profile and let the world know that her baby boy wasn't injured, and the socialite was fast to blame the accident on the bad state of London's potholed pavements.

She wrote on twitter: "Was just walking with Astala in his pram and there was a massive hole in the pavement I didn't see as (I) was pushing the pram and the pram... fell into it and toppled over!"Thankfully Astala didn't fall out as was strapped in and so didn't get hurt at all or cry. But still the London pavements are SO dangerous!

"If he had fallen out he could have seriously hurt himself! And it's impossible to see these cracks when pushing a pram. The mayor of london should do something about it, it's ridiculous! Thank god Astala is ok!"

This would all be ok if the pictures taken by the paparazzi didn't show otherwise. The images, which can be found on the MailOnline, clearly show the young mum being preoccupied with her phone conversation before the topple happens.

Furthermore, baby Astala is pictured rolling backwards and almost out of the buggy, even though Peaches insisted that he had been strapped in. It appeared that he was saved from injury mostly by the hood of his buggy.

We don't know what's worse - that Peaches gave more attention to a phone call than to the safety of her child or that she seemingly lied about strapping her baby into his buggy? Definitely both.

Nevertheless, as Peaches is expecting baby number two, we wish the family a happy new year and hope we never have to see moments like this one ever again.
