Enjoy a day at the cinema

Unfortunately for us all, it’s been a very cold and wet year, and things aren’t looking up for the weather right now. This can be disappointing, especially as the school holidays are quickly approaching and the weather isn’t getting much warmer. But don’t let this stop you from fulfilling your summer this year as there are plenty of activates to do despite the rain.

Museums – Museums are a fun way to educate your kids and most are completely free to enter. Not only will you be staying dry but museums are often large enough to spend the entire day in there. They are filled with interesting and unique objects and facts that will interest you and your children.

Bake – Baking is a fun activity for kids and it will teach them some skills in the kitchen. Not only will you be setting them up for later life, but it will also keep your little ones entertained. And by teaching them that cooking is fun, it will make them want to do it when they’re older.

Cinema – Will the release of many animated films in summer, the cinema is the perfect venue to take your children on a rainy day. The cinema will give them some enjoyment and also keep them quiet for a few hours (fingers crossed).

Theatre – Kids need to be culturally educated and there’s no better way to do that than take them to the cinema. And with lots of stage shows aimed at children and adults alike; such as ‘The Lion King’, it will be fun for all the family.

Ice-skating/Roller rink – With many ice and roller rinks around, this is a fun and easy option to do. It will be a new skill for your children to learn and before you know it, they will get the hang of it and will be speeding round the ring whilst you struggle to keep up.

Swimming – This is a great way to get active, especially on those rainy days. Swimming is a great way to get your kids out and enjoy some exercise. Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean that you can’t keep go out and stay fit!

Library – Library’s a brilliant to keep your children quiet and educated. Children love stories so what better way than taking them to a place full of exciting books? Reading also educates the brain and children who read are likely to be more creative.

Board games – If you are stuck for idea, why not have a family day indoors? Crack out the board games and show your children you don’t need modern technology to have a good time. And games like monopoly can last hours, ensuring that the whole family will have fun all throughout the day.
