- A chance for creative media professionals to have their say on the development of skills and training in the industry –

9th April 2008 – Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for Creative Media, today announced the launch of the Skillset Workforce Survey for 2008. The industry’s most comprehensive survey will take place throughout April and May and will cover both employees and freelancers working in the TV, Radio, Film, Interactive Media, Animation, Computer Games and Facilities industries.

The information collected will provide an invaluable insight into how the industry is performing in terms of training, qualifications and skills. It will provide a crucial opportunity for industry professionals to have their say on the future needs of their particular sector and also ensure that their own needs are met.

The information from this survey will be critical in helping to: · Compare the career development opportunities of different demographic groups; · Identify common routes of entry and progression; · Establish current and emerging skills development needs; · Identify problems with current training provision; · Find out what factors are holding people back from developing and progressing in their careers.

The questionnaire includes sections on working patterns, skills, training needs and gives people the opportunity to highlight any issues with current training provision.

To take part in the survey please visit Skillset’s website www.skillset.org/research or follow the link: http://www.qualasys.com/skillset_workforce_survey_2008.htm. Alternatively paper copies of the survey can be obtained from Karen Muir on 0113 244 6795. Questionnaires are also being distributed by employers, trade associations and networks.

The closing date for the questionnaire is Friday 30th May 2008.
