FlirtFinder have found that London women send 25 per cent fewer messages when using the mobile dating service than the rest of the UK.

Although the ratio of women to men is 8 per cent lower in London, London women are 7 per cent less likely to respond to messages from a potential date.

London ladies are 8 per cent more attractive than any other region, according to the site, so it isn’t like they are short of admirers.

Unfortunately for the men using the service, London women block the advances 10 per cent more often than FlirtFinder’s national average.

Justin Battell, managing director of FlirtFinder says, “Even though our members rate London women among some of the most attractive in the UK, it appears that they are fussier and less willing to invest time in looking for love.

“Perhaps the hustle and bustle of city life is making London women more cynical towards romance – so their defences are constantly on high alert – even when they have the relative anonymity that mobile dating can offer.

“Finding love is all about taking chances though, so this closed off approach may be getting in the way of a happily ever after!”

The most receptive region was Belfast, followed closely by St Albans. Preston followed behind London as the least receptive region.
