500 Days of Summer

500 Days of Summer

Did you find love in the long hazy days of summer 2008? Then it’s make-or-break time for Brits as a new survey reveals that Hollywood was right and ‘500 days’ really could be decision time for a lot of couples!

Add to that January being the most popular month to throw-out the old and bring in the new, then you better beware if your loved one needs ‘to talk’ this week!!

Couples surveyed highlighted that 16 months - 18 months is the most crucial time in deciding how their relationship will progress.

Interesting reasons as to why break-ups happen at this point included 22% who claim they’ve simply grown apart, 13% have their eye on someone else and 9% feel bored in and out of the bedroom!

Jo Hemmings, a celebrity Behavioural Psychologist and the co founder of the Relationship Coaching Academy, who has appeared on TV programmes such as Big Brother and BBC and SKY News, comments: "After reaching the milestone of a year and half, bigger decisions start to loom for couples such as should they move in together and is this the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.

"With the new year psychologically being a time of reflection, January is certainly the most popular month for breaking hearts and new starts."

The survey of over 2000 Brits-in-love was specially commissioned by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment to mark the Blu-ray and DVD release of 500 Days of Summer.

Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, This offbeat story reveals the highs and lows of an unravelling relationship that sees lovesick Tom (Gordon-Levitt) royally dumped after 500 days in a relationship with the cynical Summer (Deschanel).
