A credit crunch Valentine's Day can mean an early night!

Research released today by V Water has revealed that St Valentine’s Day is in fact more important to men than women, with nearly triple the amount of men than women considering Valentine’s Day ‘very important’ within their relationship.

The controversial research also busts the ‘last-minute flowers at the petrol station’ myth - with the average bloke actually organising his Valentine’s plans six days in advance, much to the surprise of women everywhere.

Traditionally, romantic plans fall to the man to organise, so it’s no wonder that 50% of men in relationships say that they feel under pressure to celebrate. However, the advice from V Water is that men need to de-stress - with over two thirds of women actually admitting they don’t consider Valentine’s Day important and aren’t worried about celebrating.

And if couples are still planning on celebrating this year, men needn’t bother with fancy bars or restaurants with 70% of women saying that they would prefer a more relaxed, less expensive and credit crunch friendly romantic night in.

This also comes with an added bonus with three out of four couples admitting they’re more likely to have an ‘early night’ if they stay in....
