Cox has only recently divorced from her only husband David Arquette, on May 2013, having been with him since 1999, however she had a colourful dating past before her 14 year relationship with co-star from Scream ended, where the couple first met.
He longest relationship before Arquette was with actor Michael Keaton between 1989 to 1995. It was rumoured that the split was due to her eagerness to marry, and his to stay as they were.
Cox dated singer Adam Duritz of the Counting Crows, who wrote the song Monkey for her while they were going out. They began their relationship after Cox starred in the music video for ‘A Long December’.
One of her earliest boyfriends of three years was her step cousin, the rock promoter Ian Copeland, whom she was a receptionist for at Frontier Booking International, a concert booking agency, before making it big in Friends.
