Denzel Washington celebrates his 59th birthday today, would you believe? So we take a look back over his love life to celebrate.
Washington married Paulette Pearson on 25th June 1983, who he met on the set of the film Wilma as part of his first screen work. They both had small parts on the movie and then unbeknown to them at the time would be married 5 years later.
They have four children together; John David, Katia and twins Olivia and Malcolm. 
In 1995, the couple renewed their wedding vows in South Africa and Archbishop Desmond Tutu officiated.
And their secret? ‘She puts up with me. I think, also, in a way the traveling helps. We're able to travel together and also be apart sometimes. Not everybody gets to live like that. Twenty years now. It's like you start to pat yourself on the back when you look around you and you see that very few people have 20 years into a marriage.’ (IMDB)
