So, you made it through the dreaded first date without showing your crazy side or your knickers, hopefully...  So what happens next? Should you start packing all your belongings and turn up at your dates door and announce that you're moving in?  Probably not the best move, so here's ten things to avoid, at all costs, after your first date...

1)                  Don't instantly change your Facebook relationship status to 'In a relationship' and tag your date in a million status's, follow them on Twitter and like all their photo's on Instagram.

2)                   Don't ring your date the same night as you've just met to say 'I think you're the one.'– and especially don't keep trying to call if they don't answer and leave 18 missed calls and 9 hysterical voice mails.

3)                  Don't go text crazy - if you've sent three essay style texts declaring your love and haven't had a reply by the next day I think it's time to let go.  Remember that it's a first date and not a wedding proposal.

4)                  Try not to get your hopes up too much – just because you got through the first date doesn't mean you can't mess up a second!  Don't beat yourself up about it if you don't get asked on a second date; there's plenty more awkward and petrifying first dates awaiting you.

5)                  Don't mope around with your phone in your hand waiting for a call – try and keep yourself busy and carry on with your day.

6)                  Don't ring all your family members or make any long distant calls to your friends across the other side of the world to tell them you've met 'the one.'

7)                  Don't seem too aloof – If you've received a text already after your first date, then that's amazing!  I know you won't want to seem too eager, but try not to leave it too long either or your date will think you're not interested.

8)                  Don't start planning your wedding day – try and stay cool, calm and collected even if you really think that they are the one!

9)                  Don't turn up outside your dates work / house the next morning – it might seem like a nice surprise to you but you could end up with a restraining order.

10)              Don't worry – First dates are always scary but these are also the best bits of a relationship – the exciting, adrenaline filled dates that you will look back on with a smile on your face.  So try to enjoy yourself, you never know what's going to happen next.
