It’s nice to know that a man appreciates his mum, but when does it go too far and are these men dateable?

There are a number of high-profile celebs who haven’t tried to hide their love for their mother, most recently being James Franco who has his mum on his arm whilst accepting his star on the Walk of Fame.

It’s all well and good a man loving his mum, we wouldn’t expect anything less, but when they’re a full-on mummy’s boy a date is definitely something most women would avoid.

The Learn to Love survey showed that 41 per cent of women would never date a man who they suspected of being a mummy’s boy.

And for all the men out there who think it makes them look like they care about women, think again! Only 8 per cent of women viewed it this way.

The remaining women said that they thought it was nice, but a little sad for a grown man to be a mummy’s boy.

So why is it that we have some kind of mummy’s boy vendetta? Well, don’t think for a moment that you’ll ever be the most important women in his life – that role is already taken!

Also, you know all that washing and cooking she does for him now? If you got together then you would take over that role.

The worst thing is, he would expect it, there would be no debate of whether you should do it, his mum has done it his whole life so he sees it as ‘the norm’.

Not only will his bad habits get you steaming under the bonnet, but his mum most likely won’t go easy on you.

In her eyes, you’re the competition. She’s been around and catered to him his entire life so she doesn’t like another woman treading on her turf.

There will be constant competition, she’ll be telling you how to do everything and judging you if you do something differently to how she would.

Basically, being with a mummy’s boy is a bit of a nightmare and definitely not for the fainthearted!
