Coffee and each other!

Coffee and each other!

And we all thought that Valentine’s Day was the most romantic day of the year- we were wrong according to Charlie Bigham’s. The good thing is that it’s not too far away- it’s today in fact.

So why is 3rd December such a great day for couples everywhere? Well, people in the run up to Christmas are generally in a good mood with nothing but presents looming as well as some well needed rest. They have probably just been paid so have a bob or two to their name too. For one in ten the reality of what still needs to be bought for their loved ones has not really kicked in so they are in a false sense of security. This feeling of ease means that there is more room in the lives of couples for romance!

So we have some top tips for making the most out of this day and all the good it’s doing for couples everywhere- and even better news is that they all involve food!

Meal out- If you have a bit of extra cash- go out for your evening meal instead of eating in and enjoy watching the world go by outside while you play footsie opposite one another in the window of the restaurant.

Coffee- A coffee away from home is an excuse to enjoy something a little more luxurious from your mug, maybe a gooey snack and also increase the chatter. You can't watch TV, I would hope you won’t look at your phones and you definitely can’t disappear to opposite ends of the café, as you might at home-so all you have are two things to warm the cockles each other's hearts!

Outdoor snacking- Why not take a walk down by the river or along the city streets, and take in the atmosphere, grab yourself a hotdog, a doughnut or a bag of sweets and enjoy a little treat while you walk hand in hand?

Music- If you are at home- throw on a romantic cd- perhaps a song that means a lot to you both and dance with your man  as a pre-dinner warm up in the living room or even as background noise as you make love. If you are feeling adventurous- why not make it all 9 and a half weeks and introduce some food into the bedroom!?

Meal in- Whether it’s you or him that’s feeling giving in the culinary department- create the nation's favourite- the winter warmer- fish pie, an Indian dish to spice things up or an Italian plate to maximise on the romance in every area. Use the time to talk and tell each other about your day and who knows where it might lead.

Charlie Bigham comments, 'We all know how important it is to spend proper time with our partners every week of the year not just on Valentine's Day and there are few better ways than to have a proper chat than sharing some delicious food together. What a lovely surprise to learn that the most romantic day of the year is just around the corner!'
