How Much Would You Spend?

A woman’s wedding day is the most important of her life but in order to get there the man has to get the engagement ring just right and it appears that it’s still a major priority for British men.

KLM have recently found that 23 per cent of men are willing to save up to three month’s salary for the perfect engagement ring to present to their future wife.

It seems nothing in comparison to the $500,000 Brad Pitt spent on Angelina Jolie’s ring, or the £161,000 Liam Hemsworth spent of Miley Cyrus’ but it shows that romance is still alive in the UK.

The survey showed that men are unwilling to scrimp on the big day as 55 per cent of British men said that they would spend at least one month’s salary on the all-important ring.

Most men aren’t heading for expensive jewellery stores to buy the ring, a quarter of men are choosing to invest in vintage jewellery which allows them to get more bling for their buck.

Amsterdam is seen to be the best place to get hold of the perfect engagement ring. It’s historic diamond district offers the all-important four C’s – cut, carat, clarity and colour – to please every bride.

There are a vast range of loose stones to choose from as well as modern and antique rings that will suit every man’s engagement ring budget.

As well as being great for buying diamonds, Amsterdam was also named as the top place to go for a romantic break.

Forty three per cent of those questioned named the city, often referred to as the City of Diamonds due to its diamond district, as their top spot for a romantic break.
