Is he humorous?

Is he humorous?

A recent survey by Jacks of London found that the perfect gentleman is confident, thoughtful, honest, charming and humorous.

Jacks of London Marketing Director, Emma Lee, says:

“With over 30 years’ experience in providing male barbering services and grooming products, we’d like to think we have a pretty good idea of who today’s modern gentlemen are. Yet as society evolves and new trends develop, we were really keen to gauge some insight into what our customers actually viewed as the defining characteristics of this sector of the male population. We are very pleased with the response we received and think the results make for some great reading.”

The respondents consisted of men and women so the results were able to glean perspecptive from both the sexes. Despite the common misconception that women and women differ on everything, it was found the in this case they agreed on those results that mattered. Out of fourteen adjective to describe the perfect gent, both men and women agreed on the top five choices mentioned above.

Confidence is appealing, just as long as it’s understated, not Confidence that comes in the loud and cocky form, but one that is simply a contentedness in their own abilities and looks. It all comes from styling, grooming and their attitude towards others that really matters.

The remaining four, are simply examples of what one respondent characterised as “Old world chivalry with modern day manners something that seems to be very important for this slice of society.

Emma continued: “It’s great to see that so many of our customers are in agreement, both men and women. Whilst the word ‘modern’ features so heavily in what we are trying to define, a feeling of traditional chivalry, timeless gentlemanly behaviour and respect for others seems to shine through in everything we think a modern gentleman should be. At Jacks, we couldn’t agree more.”
