Talking About Sex Is A No No!

Talking About Sex Is A No No!

According to research by O2, there are still a number of topics that we would avoid discussing with our close friends and family, our sex lives grabbing the top spots.

Thirty two per cent of us would not discuss our sex lives and 31 per cent wouldn’t discuss our infidelities with even our closest friends.

Despite this, the nation seems to be talking more openly about a large range of subjects, unlike before when previous generations would have avoided them completely.

David Johnson, General Manager Devices for O2 in the UK, said, “We’ve found that talking more openly and frankly has become a feature of everyday British life.

“Where once we were considered reserved and up-tight when it comes to our topics of conversation, the nation is now more open and ready to talk about things that would once perhaps have made previous generations blush.”

Another taboo topic of conversation was money. Possibly due to the recession, 28 per cent of people wouldn’t talk about their financial state and 25 per cent wouldn’t speak about their earnings to their family and friends.

Politics and religion used to top the conversation topic taboo list but now, only 13 per cent wouldn’t discuss politics and a tiny seven per cent wouldn’t discuss religion.

When it comes to who we are more comfortable talking to about these issues, friends came out on top.

Thirty nine per cent of people said they would happily talk about all of these topics with their friends whereas only 25 per cent would talk about them with family.
