You're both financially independent- You've paid off your student loans, your mum and dad and all you have left is the mortgage.

Relationships on Female First

You're happy most of the time- There are times when you argue or face difficulties together, but for the most part life is easy because you're happy in each other's company.

You're both trusted by your friends- They know they can come to you both for advice and help and are comfortable that if they ask you it won't go any further.

You're both organised and efficient- You know your outgoings and income, you have a regular shopping night, a tidy home and you're decisive when it comes to your days off and date nights together. You've got this now.

You're devoted to one another- You might own a house together, have gotten engaged, married or have a kid on the way but you know you are forever whatever happens.

You both keep in good shape- You like to make sure you both eat well and move as much as you can because you want to have each other around for as long as possible.

You make each other laugh- You still know how to tickle each other's chuckle muscle. Laughter is an important part of your relationship.

You're well read- You have nights where you watch TV together but these are balanced with nights where you both lie in bed next to one another with a good book.

You're both in a senior position at work- You met each other when you were at the beginning of your career journey, but now you both have responsible roles, but you've worked hard to get there and don't take it for granted.

You don't create dramas in your life together- Gone are the days where you give each other the silent treatment and believe the stuff on Facebook. If you have an issue you bring it up ASAP and resolve it before it gets blown out of proportion.

You're able to do DIY together- You might have a little spat while you're in the middle of your project because you each have your own ways of doing things- but overall you have a beautiful little house because you're an effective decorating and DIY team.

You've travelled the world- You've been to a lot of places since you got together because you know when you have kids you might not have the money or the option to travel as far afield.

You lend cash to each other- When one of you is short, the other is happy to lend the other what they can because what's yours is theirs now.

You would rather be with each other than your friends- You enjoy spending time with your mates- but you always look forward to going home to each other.

You have an immaculate home- It has cost you the earth and taken a long time to get it to a state where you want to invite others around, but all the hard work was worth it.

You're able to cook- You no longer just throw something in the oven or get at take-out- you actually enjoy cooking as a pair because you care what you're putting in your bodies.

You give each other compliments- You may have been together for many years, but you both still find each other attractive and aren't afraid to voice your opinion.

You have a great sex life- You no longer care how your sex life compares to other people's- what matters is that you still both enjoy that side of your relationship and know exactly how to get each other off.

You go on holiday once a year- You both work hard and need a break so you cherish the time with each other to rest without being disturbed.

You can pick up the bill after lunch with your parents- They supported you for a large chunk of your lives, so it feels good to be able to treat them every now and again.

You throw great dinner parties- You're confident enough now in your home and your cooking skills to have people over.

You shop for high end brands- You don't buy everything that's a brand but you have your favourites that you get every time you go supermarket shopping just because you can.

You eat out once a week- You enjoy cooking but sometimes it's nice to have a rest from the kitchen, so you try to have a date night at least once a week where you have a tasty meal together away from the house.

You both drive safely- You may have both been a bit reckless when you first got your cars but now you're more careful. After all you have the person you love most in the world in the car with you- it's not worth risking their safety because you're late or feeling cocky.

People ask you where you buy your furniture from- It's taken you a while to save for the pieces you've selected for you home, so you're proud when people ask to tell them where you got it from.
