British royal Queen Elizabeth Ii declined the offer of an advance of the Dame Helen Mirren-starring movie The Queen - because she only owns a Vhs player.Earlier this week (14Feb07), the film's producer Andy Harries claimed he had been tipped off by Buckingham Palace sources that the monarch gave his film her approval.But when Her Majesty was presented with the gift by the head of a television company last year (06), a friend of the Oscar-nominated Mirren, she politely turned it down because she has yet to buy a Dvd player.Mirren fondly recalls, "That was just eight months ago."
