The Duchess of Cambridge

The Duchess of Cambridge

Britain's Duchess of Cambridge will be the guest of honour at a fundraising dinner this month.

The royal beauty is due to make an appearance at the gala event hosted by 100 Women in Hedge Funds on October 24, which is being held at the Kensington Palace State Apartments in honour of Action on Addiction charity.

Catherine - née Kate Middleton - is patron of UK-based charity Action on Addiction, which provides treatment, education and support for people suffering from addiction.

The event is expected to raise a hefty amount of money for the cause since the best tables are selling for £60,000, according to HELLO! Magazine.

The duchess is set to present Dame Amelia Fawcett, DBE with the coveted European Industry Leadership Award during the posh dinner.

This will be the second official royal engagement for Catherine since welcoming her first child with Prince William, Prince George, on July 22.

The 31-year-old star is due to attend a SportsAid event at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London on Friday 18 October.

She will attend a training workshop and watch young athletes take part in wheelchair basketball, CP football, volleyball, fencing and badminton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge finally moved into Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace with baby George last week after its £1million refurbishment was completed.
