Pippa Middleton

Pippa Middleton

Morrissey has branded Pippa Middleton a "thickwit".

The Smiths singer has found a brand new target for his anti-monarchist rants, this time targeting Britain's Duchess Catherine's younger sister over her love of hunting.

The outspoken animal rights activist was angered by a photograph published in the Daily Mail newspaper last month which showed party-planning expert Pippa posing with 50 pheasant carcasses after a shoot in Scotland.

He wrote in a statement: "On October 5, the Daily Mail newspaper gave us all an 'amusing' report of thickwit Pippa Middleton laughing as she stood over 50 birds shot dead by her friends and herself after a 'busy day's shooting'.

"We are reminded by the Daily Mail that Middleton is a 'socialite', which tells us that she is privileged and can more-or-less kill whatever she likes - and, therefore she does."

Morrissey - who has famously expressed his dislike of the royal family in the past - went on to make a sly dig at Catherine, known as Kate Middleton before her marriage to Prince William, about her supposed lack of rights to the throne.

The musician continued: "The sick face of modern Britain, Pippa Middleton will kill deer, boar, birds - any animal struggling to live, or that gets in her socialite way. This is because her sister is, of course, Kate, who herself became 'royal' simply by answering the telephone at the right time..."

The new attack comes after Morrissey called Queen Elizabeth "incapable" of addressing the public without a script, and lamented the "natural idiocy of [Prince] Harry, zombified William and airhead Kate" earlier this week.
