Prince Philip

Britain's Prince Philip jokingly asked if people get bonus points for knocking a toddler over today (07.10.13).

The 92-year-old royal - who often makes comical comments during his official visits - was in fine form as he attended St Michael's Care Complex in Norfolk, east England, and could not resist making the quip after spotting 22-month-old Ella sitting on an inflatable ball.

He asked: "Do you get bonus points if you knock her off?"

The Duke of Edinburgh showed he was back to his best in one of his first public outings since having abdominal surgery two months ago by making several wisecracks throughout his 45-minute tour of the facility.

Philip walked around the complex unaided and made another joked when he saw elderly women sitting in a semi-circle kicking huge inflatable balls around.

He said: "This is dangerous."

Activities assistant Bobbie Sauerzapf, who was leading the session, said: "This is gentle exercise to stimulate parts of the body that are not used too often, they really enjoy it.

"I think the duke wanted to join in, to be honest. He looks brilliant for his age."

Philip has made several gaffes in recent times including one when he failed to identify the UK's Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt at a Buckingham Palace reception.

He bluntly asked him: "Who are you?"
