Prince William

Prince William

Britain's Prince William's first engagement since becoming a father will be to visit the Anglesey Show.

The 31-year-old royal - who became a dad for the first time when his wife Duchess Catherine gave birth to their son Prince George last week - will take in the annual agricultural show in north Wales on Wednesday August 14, where he will meet local farmers and make a short speech.

William will also watch falconry and gundog displays at the country extravaganza, which will take place at a showground close to his and Catherine's Anglesey home, where he will return to next week when his allotted two-week statutory paternity leave from the RAF comes to an end.

Before the prince departs the show, organisers will present him with a gift.

Catherine - who was known as Kate Middleton prior to her and William's nuptials - and George will not attend the Anglesey Show alongside the prince. The duchess is yet to announce when her first royal engagement since becoming a mother will be.

While William will return to RAF Valley in Anglesey next week to continue work as an RAF search and rescue pilot, he is expected to move back to London on a permanent basis at some point this year.
