Britain's Prince William awarded boxer Carl Froch with an MBE and rugby player Jonny Wilkinson with a CBE yesterday (17.11.15).

The Duke of Cambridge presented Froch with the honour for his services to boxing while former England rugby star Jonny was presented with the award for his services to the sport at the Investiture ceremony.

A photograph of the boxer proudly holding up his medal was posted on the official Buckingham Palace Twitter account as was an image of Jonny being presented with his by Prince William alongside a snap of him playing for England.

Speaking about his excitement at being named in the Queen's Birthday Honours list in June, Carl dedicated his MBE to his fans in his hometown of Nottingham, saying: "I couldn't have achieved what I have without my fans in Nottingham, so I dedicate this to them. They were right behind me when I won my world title here and they have been such a huge force and inspiration in my career."

Jonny - who secured England's victory in the 2003 Rugby World Cup - was joined by his proud parents and wife Shelley Jenkins at the ceremony.
