Enjoy your holiday with your family with these tips

Travelling as a family is hard work, there's a lot to think about and sometimes it can all get a bit too much. Nadine Hallak, travel expert at Cheapflights.co.uk has provided her top tips for travelling with the family this year.

“When travelling with little ones it’s a good idea to check out the airlines’ family friendly facilities before you book so that the whole family can have an enjoyable journey. Find out if pushchairs can be taken into the cabin and if any extra fees need to be paid before the day of departure. Many airlines now offer children’s meals at no extra cost and free toys to keep them entertained,” says Nadine Hallak, travel expert at Cheapflights.co.uk.

“Families with children in full time education are limited to peak travel times meaning holidays are far more expensive than other times of the year. Although not completely avoidable, parents can ease the expenses by keeping an eye on the value of the Euro and picking a destination outside the Eurozone such as Egypt or Turkey,” says Hallak.

“Consider a DIY holiday and book flights and hotels individually to avoid tour operator costs. Cheapflights.co.uk compares different airlines, so all you need to do is search dates and choose the most appropriate flight. Another top tip is to book mid-week flights as these are often cheaper than flights departing on a weekend,” says Hallak.

“Finally, for an easy family beach holiday it’s worth doing a bit of local research to ensure the beach is suitable for children. Look for sheltered coves with soft sand and shallow waters,” says Hallak.
