The event - which will be streamed live on Facebook - will use a mounted camera to follow a security guard who is just on a usual night shift at an art gallery when he comes across a dead body.

He has only 30 minutes to work out what happened to the deceased or he will be arrested for the murder. Fans are encouraged to discuss and debate what is the best move to make next in order to help the guard get out in time.

Actress Emilia Fox, famed for her role in crime drama 'Silent Witness', said: "I obviously love the crime genre so am delighted to be involved in such an innovative Murder Mystery concept.

"It's great that so many people will be involved at once, I'm definitely an arm chair detective so will be playing along on the night and tuning in to Crossing Lines afterwards!"

Whilst Adrian Wills, General Manager for Alibi at UKTV, added: "Framed is a brand new way for Alibi fans to enjoy crime drama. We love to reward our viewers with more of what they love and engage them in more ways. Alibi fans will love the chance to put their own skills of deduction to the test just like their favourite TV detectives."

The interactive escape room is being launched alongside the new season of 'Crossing Lines'.

David Varela, writer of Framed, said: "Escape room experiences are usually designed for small groups, so creating a story on this scale meant taking the game to another level - and that gives us a whole new range of options to play around with.

"Allowing thousands of people to take part at once should produce some really exciting results, and we're looking forward to some heated arguments about the different choices our character can make! And as a world first, we're hoping this show will spark even more innovation in the medium of live streaming."

Framed takes place Thursday 13 October at 8pm on facebook.com/alibichannel, with the new series of 'Crossing Lines' airing at 9pm on Alibi.
