'The Voice' winner Andrea Begley has vowed to learn from the mistakes of last year's victor Leanne Mitchell.

The 27-year-old singer - who triumphed on the show on Saturday (22.06.13) - is planning to do things differently to Leanne, whose debut album took nearly a year to release and only reached number 134 in the UK charts, and put her record out as soon as possible.

She said: "Everybody is obviously aware that last year things didn't go maybe as well as they could've done, and I think lessons have been learned.

"And certainly it's important I think to build on things at the moment and get something out there soon - hopefully that will turn things this year."

The partially-sighted songstress, who sang with her mentor Danny O'Donoghue and his band The Script in the final, is planning to put together an album soon to ensure she doesn't lose any of her momentum.

Speaking on the ITV's 'This Morning', she added: "The idea is to get an album together pretty quickly and I met the label yesterday to discuss what we are going to do.

"At the moment I have some of my own material which I'd like to try and get on to the new album and hopefully get something out in the shops before Christmas."

Following Andrea's victory over her fellow finalists Mike Ward and red-hot favourite Leah McFall - who was mentored by will.i.am - the Black Eyed Peas star criticised the winner, but the pair have since spoken and Andrea understands his disappointment.

She explained: "will.i.am and I spoke afterwards [at the party] and I totally understand why he was very disappointed ... because the coaches are so competitive with each other and he wanted his act to win and he supported Leah 110 per cent."
