The Geordie duo have postponed "all work commitments" until they recover from a mystery illness, which has left them unable to shoot 'Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician'.

A BGT spokesperson told Mirror Online: "Ant and Dec are both unwell and have postponed all work commitments until they recover.

"Sadly, this means they were unable to film 'Britain’s Got Talent: The Ultimate Magician'."

'Britain's Got More Talent' host Stephen Mulhern will step in for the pair.

The spokesperson added: "Whilst we wish them a speedy recovery, we are thrilled to confirm that BGT’s favourite magician, Stephen Mulhern has stepped in."

The 'BGT' spin-off is due to see 10 magicians compete for a £50,000 prize fund.

It's not known whether or not Ant and Dec will be able to attend this year's National Television Awards, which takes place on Thursday (13.10.22).

They are up for several prizes at the NTAs, including yet another nod in the TV Presenter category, which they have won every year since 2001.

What's more, their shows 'Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway' and 'I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' are up for The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, while 'Britain's Got Talent', which they also co-host', has a nod for the best Talent Show.

But the pair will face stiff competition in the TV Presenter category from comedian Graham Norton, 'The Chase' host Bradley Walsh, and Alison Hammond, who hosts 'This Morning' every Friday with Dermot O'Leary.
