'Hollyoaks Later' is coming back for a sixth series.

The late night spin-off of Channel 4's popular soap will return this autumn with five risqué hour-long episodes, airing after the watershed on partner channel E4.

Bryan Kirkwood, 'Hollyoaks' Executive Producer and Lime Pictures' Head of Continuing Drama, said: "We are very happy to announce the commissioning of series six of 'Hollyoaks Later'. It is a returning series that gives an annual late night treat to loyal 'Hollyoaks' fans."

The special drama-filled episodes, broadcast on consecutive nights across one week, will see some well-loved faces from the past return to the show.

One key storyline involves Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) struggling to cope as he battles cancer, with his friends Kurt Benson (Jeremy Edwards), Rory 'Finn' Finnigan (James Redmond) and his brother Dom Reilly (John Pickard) appearing alongside a host of unexpected characters in Spain and Morocco.

Viewers will also be treated to an eerie storyline revolving around Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) and Tilly Evans (Lucy Dixon) as they celebrate an 18th birthday in a scary location.

Lee Mason, Channel 4 Editor for 'Hollyoaks', revealed: "Tony's cancer battle is an important story for us to tell and we're so excited to be able to explore it further within the high octane, highly emotional and sometimes shocking world of 'Hollyoaks Later'."
