The 70-year-old reality star had "so much fun" when she paid a visit to the BBC Studios in Glasgow to shoot a role in the sitcom, although it is unclear if she just has a cameo in a special one-off episode or will be making a longer appearance in the next series.

Caitlyn shared a photo of herself on set with Brendan O'Carroll, who was dressed as the titular foul-mouthed matriarch Agnes Brown, and wrote on Instagram: "Had so much fun appearing in this funny comedy in Scotland. Mrs Brown's Boys!"

Meanwhile, Brendan recently ruled out making a 'woke' show.

The 64-year-old actor dismissed his 10-year-old grandson and co-star Jamie O'Carroll's pleas to use the show to highlight climate-change issues.

Brendan said: "He cornered me in my dressing room and said 'Grandad, I need to talk to you about the environment and how your generation are not doing enough'.

"I wrote it in a script where somebody said to Mrs Brown, 'Your generation has f***ed up this planet'. But it never made an episode, as I thought, 'No, it's too serious.'"

Brendan also confessed to having some issues with Jamie's pleas.

He said: "Our generation were doing it right, it's the disposable generation who are ruining the planet.

"Everything is disposable now, even furniture. We had a couch all our lives, they change their couch now like they change their wallpaper. We recycled bottles and washed out nappies.

"We had the right idea back then."

Meanwhile, in December, Brendan told critics of 'Mrs Brown's Boys' to "change the f***ing channel" because he doesn't give a damn about negative comments about the show.

He said: "Just change the f***ing channel.

"Honestly, I put on my dress and my t**s and go out and make people laugh and I come off, take off my dress, take off my t**s, get into the shower, come out and as soon as I come out of the theatre, I don't even think about the show.

"The evidence of four NTA awards means people are not just liking it - they're actually prepared to stand up and shout it."
