The 56-year-old presenter - who was given the all-clear from the disease less than a year ago - is devastated her little sibling Tracy has been told the lump she found in her breast three months ago isn't treatable because it's already spread through her body.

Carol - who lost her mother to lung cancer 13 years ago - told Best magazine: "I don't think Tracy wants to know how long she has left, although the doctors could probably say. We're in uncharted water, but she's trying to be positive. We all are."

Tracy admitted she was initially sceptical of telling her sister about the lump in her breast because she thought she would get criticised for "copying" her - again.

Tracy explained: "When I found a lump in my left breast this August, I actually thought 'Here we go. I'm copying her again'. How I wish that were true. I know that, for once in her life, my sister would have given anything for me to have copied her. But, despite the devastating news, and for as long as I have left, we have grown closer."

Despite her prognosis, Tracy still has to undergo chemotherapy every few weeks as doctors want to slow down how quickly the cancer takes control of her body.

But she's not letting her illness or her treatment stop her from completing her bucket list as she's determined to have a spectacular last Christmas with her loved ones.

Carol said: "Let's just say that my Christmas wish is for my sister to have the best time ever, and to really make the most of the time she has left, because, above all, I don't want her to have any regrets."
