Castle is a thrilling crime drama that premiered its first season on GREAT! tv on July 26th this year, with new episodes releasing weekly at 3pm. The channel will be airing all eight seasons of the cult drama.

GREAT! tv showcases the best collection of TV and entertainment from the UK and the US, with a strong focus on crime drama and mystery. Its portfolio includes Murder, She Wrote, Hart to Hart, Crazy like a Fox, and of course, Castle.

Castle stars Nathan Fillion (Firefly, The Rookie) as Richard Castle, Stana Katic (Absentia) as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Susan Sullivan (Falcon Crest, Dharma & Greg) as Martha Rodgers, Molly Quinn (The Rookie) as Alexis Castle, Penny Johnson Jerald (The Lion King) as NYPD Captain Victoria Gates, Tamala Jones (Rebel) as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas (This Is Us) as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, and Seamus Dever (Titans) as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan.

With a cast such as this one, all with some experience in the world of entertainment in major roles or otherwise, Castle certainly has a lot going for it to say the least.

Upon first meeting with famed mystery writer and divorcee father, Richard Castle, viewers will have noticed he has a spot of writer’s block; perhaps not helped by the task of raising his teenage daughter and a very involved and sassy mother, too.

However, when the NYPD question him in relation to a collection of copy-cat murders, all of which have been carefully done to imitate crime scenes from his own books, Castle all of a sudden has a new muse: Detective Kate Beckett.

Beckett is an intellectual and driven cop who works in homicide who has a keen interest in solving the hardest cases; perhaps due to the still unsolved murder of her very own mother…

Despite the seemingly oddball duo of Castle and Beckett, sparks begin to fly – and not the good kind – as their lives are led towards a dangerous path; but, if they’re lucky, romance will be in there somewhere.

After the case if solved, Castle decides to use the fact that he knows the mayor to get himself a gig working with Beckett to look into interesting and gruesome homicides in New York, combining Beckett’s thorough detective skills and Castle’s writer’s intuition.

A new episode of Castle will release every week.

GREAT! tv is available on Freeview 49, Sky 157, Virgin 189 and FREESAT 142.
