The 'Love Island' star - whose body was found near his home in Essex on Friday (15.03.19) - appeared on the dating programme in February 2018 and E4 dedicated the latest episode of the show to the former footballer when it aired last night.

After the credits rolled, a photo of Mike appeared on the screen alongside the words "In memory of Mike Thalassitis 1993-2019".

Meanwhile, former 'Celebs Go Dating' expert Nadia Essex has admitted her "heart is broken" following her friend's apparent suicide.

The 37-year-old star was slammed after posting emotional videos on her social media accounts asking if the news was "a hoax" and she claims she has now been "driven off" Twitter as a result.

She told MailOnline: "I loved that man, and he is dead. My heart is broken. I loved the bones of Mike. And yet I have been driven off social media for trying to find out whether or not the news was true. I'm done.

"This is precisely what's wrong with Twitter and it should be ashamed of itself. It is 2019 and yet people are still allowed to hurl abuse at one another on that platform.

"Instagram is different, but last night I had to come off Twitter after the amount of abuse I received. I will never understand it."

Nadia went on to describe Mike - who was nicknamed 'Muggy Mike' on 'Love Island' - as a "beautiful human being" who she was very "close" to.

She added: "Mike and I were close, we spent a lot of time together when we were in Cape Verde [for 'Celebs Go Dating' filming]. And he was far from muggy, he was magic; he was a beautiful human being!"
