Celine Dion unfortunately won't be able to make The X Factor final, where she was hoped to duet with Sam Bailey.

The Canadian singing sensation had to turn down an invitation to perform on December 15 due to prior commitments in the USA.

The 45-year-old star - who previously appeared on this year's live shows in a pre-recorded performance - declined on the grounds she was too busy, according to The Sun newspaper.

A new artist has been found to partner with prison officer Sam, who has never been in the bottom two, and the line-up of the celebrity duets will be confirmed next week.

The duets have become an integral part of the ITV show, with memorable performances including Alexandra Burke singing with vocal powerhouse Beyonce and 2010 winner Matt Cardle teaming up with Rihanna.

The live finals, which take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December from Wembley Arena in London, will also see a host of famous faces performing on the stage.

Head judge Gary Barlow will be joined by music legend Sir Elton John to perform their new singe, 'Face to Face', while Katy Perry will sing her latest track, 'Unconditionally'.

One Direction, The Killers and Tom Odell are also set to put in appearances over the two nights.
