The hunky actor - who has played ladies' man Freddie Roscoe on the Channel 4 soap for four years - is moving on from the show for pastures new.

Charlie's departure was revealed in the end credits of Wednesday's (12.04.17) episode as the word "Goodbye" flashed up alongside his character's name.

And Freddie confirmed that he was leaving, with an emotional Instagram post.

He wrote: "A wonderful journey, with wonderful people. Thank you to everyone at Hollyoaks, the staff throughout the building, the production team, the prod secs, post production, make up, costume, design, tech, lighting, cameras, sound and all the lovely directors, D.o.p's and actors Iv had the opportunity to work with and learn from. The best 4 years of my life. So again, Thank YOU Hollyoaks #goodbyefreddieroscoe (sic)."

Digital Spy reports that it was 25-year-old actor Charlie's decision to quit.

During his time on the soap Freddie has committed murder, had an affair with a mother and daughter and stolen money.

Charlie has already filmed his final scenes, which will be shown later this month.

Freddie arrived in 'Hollyoaks' with his four brothers, Joe, Ziggy, Robbie and Jason, in 2013, but all have since left the show.
