Charlotte Crosby hopes her mum will beat beast cancer in series two of her reality show Charlotte In Sunderland

The former 'Geordie Shore' documented her life in the north of England in the first series of the BBC reality show, and she recently confirmed it's returning for a second run - and she's hoping cameras will be around to capture her mum Letitia when she hopefully beats breast cancer.

In a post on Instagram, Charlotte wrote: "Series 2 will bring everyone completely up to date with me and [boyfriend] Jake and [daughter] Alba, we are praying it will see my Mam successfully complete her treatment for breast cancer and ring the bell."

Charlotte was left reeling when Letitia was diagnosed with breast cancer while filming the first series of the show, and has been supporting her as she underwent surgery as well as chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.

Letitia later revealed she had no symptoms at the time of her diagnosis, revealing doctors detected the cancer through a routine mammogram check-up.

She told The Sun newspaper: "It was just a routine mammogram, I have never missed one. When they told me it was cancer I was floored. I no symptoms, no lumps, nothing. The mammogram has helped save my life – they should be inviting women of all ages to one every single year. Not just women over 50.”

The first season of the show also featured more heartbreak for Charlotte when her beloved grandmother Nana Jean passed away.

However, the 10-episode run also showed Charlotte finding love with boyfriend Jake Ankers and welcoming her first child - daughter Alba.

Nasfim Haque, Head of Content for BBC Three, said of the new series: "It is great to get Charlotte back once again giving viewers an access all areas pass to her entertaining world ... the best bit is that off screen the team making it will be supporting local North East production talent develop - it’s a winning combo for sure."

'Charlotte in Sunderland' series two will be broadcast on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
