The former 'Free Rein' star - who first appeared on the cobbles as Daisy Midgeley in November - attempted to get the Roy Cropper actor's autograph for her boyfriend Paul's family, but the 'Corrie' legend thought she worked in the clothing department.

She said: "I was new and he mistook me for a wardrobe assistant."

Instead of correcting the cobbles icon, Charlotte went along with David's request to grab his Roy outfit.

She said: "He asked if I wouldn’t mind getting him some clothing and for some reason instead of just introducing myself I was like, ‘Yes, let me go and find out, what would you like to wear today?’

"This was David Neilson after all."

But on the cobbles, Charlotte is hoping her character Daisy can become as "iconic" as Kate Ford's alter-ego Tracy Barlow.

She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I’d love her to be an iconic bad girl, why not?

"I don’t know what the long-term plans are, but she’s somebody who will do whatever needs to be done to protect herself.

"That makes her quite dangerous, so I actually think potentially she could be as bad as Tracy Barlow."

Charlotte was cast as Jenny Connor's (Sally Ann Matthews) stepdaughter last year.

She said at the time: "I am thrilled to be joining such a well-beloved and iconic show like Corrie during its 60th anniversary and especially whilst living in such uncertain times.

"Daisy has been a delight to play so far with her lack of filter and flirty nature but there’s certainly more to her than meets the eye.

"I’m excited to flesh her out and see what lies ahead for hers and Jenny’s relationship.”
