The 53-year-old TV presenter - who has Holly, 19, Tilly, 17, and Chester, 14, with ex-husband Matthew Robertson - rediscovered her love of baked beans but they triggered a flatulence problem and she couldn't stop trumping in front of Chester.

Speaking to her boyfriend Michael Douglas on her 'Making the Cut' podcast, she revealed: “So it’s been a long time since I’ve had a baked bean, a long time. The other night, Chester said, I really fancy some baked beans. We did fish with homemade roast potatoes, broccoli with some baked beans on the side.

“Thank God you weren’t staying at my house that night because I would have literally turned into a blimp and taken off. I honestly have never ever farted like that. I was horrified, I had to leave the room. To horrify a 14-year-old boy with farts who usually finds farts funny … it was bad.”

But Michael, 46, blames the trumping on her body naturally changing and adjusting to foods as she grows older.

He added: “Your body is changing, you break them down in a slightly different way. You’re naturally more gassy as you get older.”

Meanwhile, Davina is set to front a new show for Channel 4 that fights against the stigma of menopause.

'Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and The Menopause' will see Davina break down the myths surrounding women's health and hopes to dispel any fear.

As well as speaking about her own journey, Davina will speak to other women from a variety of backgrounds who will tell their own stories.

She said: "I don’t think I’ve ever worked on a project that has affected me so deeply. I get home after filming and sometimes I just sit down and cry ... from deep frustration and anger at how we are failing women. This film isn’t just for menopausal women, it’s for their partners, their fathers, their brothers, and their sons.

"We’re all in this together. I used to think that menopause was an age thing and now I realise it’s a woman thing. For far too long, there’s been a shroud of embarrassment, shame and fear around this topic, and this is where it stops!"
