CBS Reality is set to bring an incredible new original true crime series to the small screen this month, with the debut of Descent of a Serial Killer, headed up by former FBI Agent and leading Psychological Criminologist, Dr. Bryanna Fox. As an expert in evidence-based profiling, she's certainly the best person for the job.

Are serial killers born bad? It's a question that people have been asking for as long as we can remember. In Descent of a Serial Killer, that thought forms the basis of this new TV series, as the killer's path from childhood or early teens is examined.

From the moments that worrying personality traits come to the fore, we will watch as the details of these individual cases are pored over, as murderers began to gradually push boundaries before the disintegration of their personal morality.

As Dr. Bryanna Fox is joined by a range of contributors to discuss the fascinating facts and evidence from each of the cases, one question will ultimately be asked: could the serial killers have been stopped in their tracks earlier?

Some of the infamous serial killers discussed in the series include murderer Gerard Schaefer, who used his police badge to his advantage when it came to claiming lives. Whilst serving as a sheriff's deputy in Martin County, Florida, Schaefer was suspected of numerous murders, but was convicted of just two.

The Gainsville Ripper, whose real name was Danny Rolling, also features, as well as Eddie Mosley, who protested against his conviction and professed his innocence right up until his death, despite the wealth of evidence against him which included the results of a DNA profiling test.

Then there's Robert 'Bobby' Joe Long, who claimed the lives of at least 10 women in an eight-month killing spree that haunted the Tampa Bay Area in Florida, back in 1984.

In what we're sure will be a fascinating watch, but one that is also extremely hard to digest at times, true crime junkies have one heck of a journey ahead of them thanks to this new CBS Reality original true crime series.

Descent of a Serial Killer will premiere on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 at 10pm, exclusive to CBS Reality. CBS Reality is available on Sky channel 146, Virgin Media channel 148, Freeview channel 67 and Freesat channel 135.
