The 33-year-old actress raged that hooking up with toy boys wasn't “getting” her “anywhere” as she set off on her set for love.

Speaking to comedienne Ellie Taylor, 39, on her new podcast ‘Soaking Up Life With Emily Atack’: “I’ve been dating guys in their 20s, and it’s not getting me anywhere."

The ‘Ted Lasso’ star - who is married to CNN journalist Phil Black, 42 - advised Emily to age up by going for someone “nice” in their 40s.

Ellie said: "Go for a nice 40-year-old."

Emily replied: “40-year-olds scare me.”

She continued: "They are still children, how is it, when we are talking about men and they are twenty-eight, thirty-three, 'yeah but, they're still young'.

"No they are not, they are fully grown men!"

This exchange comes amid rumours that the former 'Inbetweeners' actress wished her ex boyfriend Liam McGough,38, a “happy birthday” via Instagram after they dated for seven months.

She wrote on social media: “Happy birthday to my best friend”.

Emily also recently shared some tragic family news as she “lost” her “beautiful uncle Steve”.

She wrote on Instagram: "It breaks my heart to say that on Friday we lost my beautiful uncle Steve.

"I often shared photos and stories with you all on here about him because I simply adored him. Everybody did.

"The smartest and funniest soul you could ever wish to have in your company. Always sharing his talents and love for music, cooking, hiking and writing. Just a few of many. He appreciated every single day he was here, his zest and enthusiasm for life was infectious.

"I am truly blessed and honoured to have some of my most treasured memories with you Uncle Steve aka ‘Uncle Beef’, The Mountain Man. The light of our lives. I love you so much and I will miss you beyond belief. May you live on through the music and the mountains.”
