The 30-year-old star - who rose to fame as Charlotte Hinchcliffe in 'The Inbetweeners' - has opened up on the inappropriate way men have behaved towards her both in person and online after she went on the ITV reality show in 2018.

Writing in Grazia magazine, she said: "Since I came out of the jungle almost two years ago I have noticed a huge increase in sexually explicit messages I'm sent.

"I've screenshotted a few, laughed at them with friends, shared them on my story with silly captions so we can all have a good old laugh at.

"But it's not always a joke. This morning I woke up to 12 messages from the same man. A 53-year-old married man with children."

Emily insisted there is a "sexual harassment blind spot" and pointed out the impact social media has had.

She added: "The world of social media has now made it possible for people to say whatever they like to anybody. Public trolling is out of control."

The actress has also had to deal with "uncomfortable situations" in the street, and has responded by calling the police.

She revealed: "Men have exposed themselves to me, grabbed my a*** and followed me home whilst telling me what they'd like to do to me."

When it comes to online harassment, she urged people to consider the ramifications of their actions, and underlined the importance of consent.

She said: "Enough. Life is hard enough for everyone at the moment.

"And we don't need another pic of a floppy d*** to prove it guys. If we wanted it, we'd ask for one."
