The former 'This Morning' presenter, 64, is expected to appear with five other celebrities as they belt out showtunes in an attempt to impress the judging panel on the show over the festive period, according to the Daily Mirror newspaper.

John Barrowman - who presents the show - said: "We’re back with not one but two helpings of this feel-good and fabulous musical affair."

The judging panel comprises of musical theatre legend Elaine Paige, 73, 'Hamilton' star Trevor Dion Nicholas, and Samantha Barks, who played Eponine in the film version of 'Les Miserables' and is currently starring as Elsa in the West End production of 'Frozen'.

Fern's TV comeback follows her split last year from chef Phil Vickery, 60.

She said at the time: "My mum died and my father died and unfortunately Phil and I fell apart."

The new musical venture is a shake-up for the star, who spent 10 years until 2009 hosting the daytime show 'This Morning', much of it alongside Phillip Schofield, who has since hosted with Holly Willoughby, 40.

In terms of performing, Fern has appeared in panto and took part in the 2012 series of 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

The latest offering of 'All Star Musicals' was won by TV courtroom judge Robert Rinder, who wowed the panellists with his rendition of 'Be Our Guest' from the Disney classic 'Beauty and the Beast'.

Samantha told him: "You brought so much joy and I really think you took on the character of Lumière, and I believed you were Lumière.

"I think you'd be very, very good in the part of Lumière, it was amazing."
