The 27 year old competes in this weekend's final alongside Ben Haenow and Andrea Faustini says she became depressed as she struggled to land gigs and resigned to sitting at home in her pyjamas.

She said: "The beginning of this year was my lowest point. I was waking up at whatever time and watching repeats of 'Friends' in my pyjamas all day, every day.

"There was nothing in my diary - no gigs, nothing going on. I was like, 'What am I going to do with my life?' I was so scared. I knew if I got a normal job, I would never sing again.

"There was no motivation in me - there wasn't even any drive to get up in the morning because what's the point? I was definitely depressed. Looking back, I'm like, 'Who was that?'"

However, Fleur soon got back on her feet after her friends and family encouraged her to audition for the ITV singing competition.

She said: "I got up, got in the gym and I had something to work towards."
