January will see the return of The Great British Bake Off to television screens, with a special series in aid of sport-relief.

Sixteen celebrities will be taking part in the proceedings - from actors and sports stars to television presenters and comedians.

Veteran host Sue Perkins will be joined by Jo Brand, Ed Byrne and Omid Djalili - who'll each present one episode each.

“It was lovely to meet all of the celebrity bakers, especially as they were all so excited about taking part. Baking doesn’t necessarily come first for most of them so I was really looking forward to finding out who had hidden talents. Having Jo, Ed and Omid in the Bake Off tent was great fun too.” said Mary Berry of the series.

The series will also follow the travels of Nicola Adams - gold medal winner at The Olympics - as she visits Comic Relief funded areas in South Africa.

Paul Hollywood said: “We had a real laugh filming this Sport Relief special. There were a few disasters, some triumphs and even some tears but all the celebrity bakers got stuck in and seemed to enjoy the experience. I think what the series shows is that baking is really accessible and anyone can have a go.”

Sport Relief returns March 21-23.
