The 20-year-old star - who won over the nation with his cheery and likeable character on the baking programme 10 months ago - has been asked to front his own six-part series called 'Bake Boy', a nickname given to him by his friends, on Channel 4.

A source told The Sun Bizarre column: "Channel 4 bosses saw straight away that Liam had the makings of a TV star.

"He's likeable, young and confident in front of the camera. 'Bake Boy' is in the very early stages but it's looking like a six-part series for the channel."

Although the youngster is yet to put pen to paper and sign a contract with Channel 4, it's believed the programme will focus on his life and his love for the kitchen.

And it looks like there could be more on the way for Liam as it's not the first job he's been offered by Channel 4 - having bagged a place on the presenting panel of the spin-off show 'Bake Off: The Professionals', which was previously known as 'Bake Off: Crème de la Crème' before it switched broadcasters, earlier this year.

Liam - who finished fifth in the main show last year - is also hoping to secure a place on 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year after he watched 2016 'Bake Off' winner Candice Brown flaunt her skating skills on the new version of 'Dancing On Ice' in January.

He told BANG Showbiz: "Yeah, 'Strictly', I'd love to do that."

And, in the long-term, Liam is adamant he'll swipe Paul Hollywood's job on the 'Bake Off' judging panel from him after he got to know him while taking part in the series.

He said: "I'm coming for Paul Hollywood's job in a couple of years."
