The 32-year-old wildlife presenter and Jowita wowed the judges with their salsa routine, which they performed to the sound of 'Ecuador' by Sash.

Hamza and Jowita were awarded a score of 39 out of a possible 40 points, making it the highest score of the series so far.

By contrast, pop star Matt Goss and his partner Nadiya Bychkova failed to impress the judges with their jive.

Matt, 54 - who is best known for starring alongside his twin brother Luke in Bros - and Nadiya danced to 'All Shook Up' by Sir Paul McCartney.

But their routine was given a meagre score of 20 out of 40.

Will Mellor and his partner Nancy Xu also endured a difficult night on the dance floor, with their rumba earning a score of 23 out of 40 from the judges.

However, the 46-year-old actor had a cold and a cough going into his performance.

He said during the show: "Monday, I came into training and after a couple of hours, I felt funny. I've come down with a terrible virus."

Will also explained the inspiration behind their routine.

He said: "The actual story behind the dance is powerful, it brings me back to a time when I wasn't in a happy place. Men find it difficult to talk so I hope people see this and go, 'Yeah, I am struggling and can reach out, with someone there to catch you.'"

Anton Du Beke observed that Will's performance was technically poor, while fellow judge Craig Revel Horwood explained that he needs to smooth out his transitions.
