It's fair to say Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) has got quite a plethora of enemies and adversaries in the final season of House of Cards, if the new first look trailer is anything to go by. In the teaser, which you can check out below, audiences can get a taste of the plotting going on behind her back, and the resistance she'll put up against those who defy her, as she takes on the role of the first female President of the United States.

Joined by Academy Award nominees Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear, as well as Cody Fern in the series' sixth season, Wright will also share the screen with the likes of Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.

Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese return as showrunners for the final outing, and will also serve as executive producers alongside Wright, David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti, Eric Roth, Michael Dobbs and Andrew Davies.

Not much is known about the plot the final season will undertake, other than what is shown in the trailer above.

Complete rewrites were ordered for the series when Kevin Spacey was removed entirely from the production, following historic allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct.

It's going to be very interesting to see how the whole world of House of Cards shakes out when all is said and done, but we do know one thing for sure. Robin Wright is going to give the performance of a lifetime.

House of Cards season 6 debuts exclusively on Netflix on Friday, November 2, 2018.
