The 22-year-old YouTube sensation has been allowed to fly back home - less than 24 hours after he was given the boot from 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' - by ITV producers because they didn't want him to have to face questioning by the media in Australia following a number of allegations made against him in recent days.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the internet star spent a few hours at a boutique hotel on Hope Island on the Gold Coast after he was pulled out of the camp, before having a meeting with bosses and his management team about going home.

Jack's agent made the decision to pull him out of the show last night after a number of tweets posted online five years ago containing racist remarks resurfaced.

A spokesperson for the young star said in a statement: "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here' - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.

"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.

"Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."

The vlogger - who is the brother of Conor Maynard - has since offered a grovelling apology for the tweets, which he, himself, has called "inflammatory" and "insulting".

In one post made back in June 2011, he said he was "at alices with my n****s!" and he also repeatedly called people "retards".
