Jason Donovan thinks 'The Voice' needs someone like Ricky Wilson.

The singer-and-actor has appeared with Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky in the stage production of 'War of the Worlds' for the past year and thinks because of his high energy, he'll make the perfect coach and addition to the show's panel.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think he's got a great personality and he's upbeat and yeah he's like a kid you know. I think he's going to do great, I think that the show needs that sort of energy. I think he's a good, fun character."

The 'Too Many Broken Hearts' singer took part in reality TV show 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' in 2006, but the 45-year-old star prefers to watch 'Strictly Come Dancing' in his spare time.

He said: "I'm loving the 'Strictly' series this year, I'm really enjoying that, there's drama and some good characters in there.

"Some dances suit some people and not others, it's a funny competition, and it's exhausting but a lot of fun."

Speaking about what he'd like to do next, Jason said: "I'd like to do more TV and films, but I do love performing live, I really do and I enjoy it even more when you're doing big shows."

Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of 'The War of the Worlds... The New Generation', is out November 25 on DVD and Blu-ray through Universal Pictures.

The show is also going on tour for a sixth time next year. Tickets go on sale on November 22 at 9am priced from £38.50 and will be available via thewaroftheworlds.com/tickets or at www.livenation.co.uk.
