Jeremy Clarkson appeared on BBC Radio 2 today with Chris Evans to chat about his dismissal from Top Gear, how much he missed the show and how he's feeling now.

Breaking his silence, the former Top Gear host admitted that he was "very sad" about what happened but said that it was his "own silly fault" following his 'fracas' with a producer on the show.

Clarkson explained: "Being unemployed, it gets busier than when you actually have a job - my forehand is improving immeasurably, two hours yesterday I played tennis.

"[Top Gear] was very much my baby and I absolutely adored it and I worked all the time on it, all through the night. Then suddenly you're not asked to do that anymore, [and] you do feel as though there's a big hole which doesn't get filled."

Refusing to speak about where he may go next, he said only that a number of offers had been presented to him which he had "listened" to.

"I was at the BBC for 27 years, I like the BBC - there are some dreadful people in it but there are also some really talented, brilliant people. It's a great organisation and I thank them for giving me such a long time there."

Clarkson is now planning an upcoming live tour with former colleagues James May and Richard Hammond - both of whom have also quit their roles on Top Gear.
